A Hard Day's Night

Apple Records

In reissue terms, it doesn't get bigger than this. 'A Hard Day's Night' saw The Beatles really enter the lexicon of british culture, the film it is culled from becoming one of the documents of early-mid 60s british optimism, a world embracing new ideas but still overtly traditionalist. The hits on the soundtrack are like pre-punk, hormone inflaming bullets: "can't buy me love,' 'a hard day's night..' plus some timely Lennon-Mccartney ballads.

A Hard Day's Night
I Should Have Known Better
If I Fell
I'm Happy Just To Dance With You
And I Love Her
Tell Me Why
Can't Buy Me Love
Any Time At All
I'll Cry Instead
Things We Said Today
When I Get Home
You Can't Do That
I'll Be Back
