One of the essential reggae albums from a singer who made so many classics during 1978-1983.

The 'Cool Ruler' is not known primarily as a roots singer. Instead, he's been primarily associated with the seductive sound of lover's rock. So the largely political content of Mr Isaac, while not unprecedented, was still something of a departure. It succeeds for a couple of reasons; the rock-solid playing of the Revolutionaries, but also for the sensitivity when Isaacs breathes into these songs of protest.

A must have album for Roots collectors and those wanting to find out more.
